During the railway budget 2013, an announcement was made about the operation of new train between Nagercoil and Bangalore. It was told that the daily express train would operate running via Dindigul, Karur, Namakkal and Selam. The pathway will not include Trichy.
Trichy residents have yet another surprise. It is the announcement of trains between Nagarcoil and Bangalore, Coimbatore and Mannargudi, and Chennai and Maanamadhurai. All these trains will be bi-weekly ones. On the other hand, the weekly trains includes the train running between Pudhucherry and Kanyakumari which will be via Trichy.Though all these have thrilled Trichy people, the Nagercoil-Bangalore route change has brought a bit of disappointment too.
