A Guide to Prepare for Bank Exams

Recruitment in the nationalized banks has been on the rise for the past 2 or 3 years to fill up vacancies all over the country. Moreover, with the growth rate in the economy slowing down, many people have started applying to these banks. The selection process includes a common written exam which is conducted by the RBI, SBI and also the IBPS. Candidates clearing this exam will be called for further rounds such as group discussions and personal interviews. Bank aspirants need to clear each of them, separately before getting selected by a bank.

An aspirant will be tested on areas such as Verbal Knowledge, Reasoning, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge with 50 questions from each section.

Here are 4 simple ways to crack bank exams:

Enroll in coaching classes

Coaching classes are conducted by teachers who are from the banking field or have attempted these bank exams before and therefore will be in a position
to give tips and teach shortcuts to crack these exams. Some centers may also help you to prepare for interviews and group discussions.

Practice! Practice! Practice!

As the saying goes, ''Practice makes man perfect'', the same thought can be applied to this scenario as well. Since, each section needs to be cleared individually, you must solve as much problem sets as quickly as possible. With repeated solving, you would become comfortable and will be able to solve any problem within 10 to 15 seconds.

Timed tests

Whenever you get time, take up a lot of timed tests. This will mentally prepare you for the exams. Many of these tests are available online and you can choose a test on a particular area, preferably your weakest, so that you could improve or you could take up a full length test as well.

Read papers, magazines on a daily basis

All bank exams have a separate section on general awareness. Questions from sports, current affairs, films etc will appear here. Therefore, it is highly important to keep your self up to date in this area. Read papers like Economic Times and magazines like India Today to improve your general knowledge.  This also helps you to strengthen your grammar skills.
