It was earlier reported that J.C Daniel the upcoming ADR movie is releasing on the 18th of October, 2013. However a latest update from the team is that the release has been postponed to the 24th of October due to some logistic reasons.
The interesting fact here is that the legend, J.C Daniel released the first Malayalam movie, ‘Vigathakumaran – The Lost Child’ on the 23rd of October, 1930.
The production team of the movie shared an old letter with us in which J.C Daniel announced the release of the first movie in the history of Malayalam Cinema.
Dear Sir/Madam,
THE LOST CHILD, the first photo-play produced by the TRAVANCORE NATIONAL PICTURES, Trivandrum, will be released at the Capitol Cinema Hall from Thursday the 23rd of October 1930 at 6:30 & 9:30 p.m. This picture depicts clearly the experiences of human life in its different phases. It was completed at a great cost and wearied labour.
We heartily desire the public will encourage us in our novel enterprise.
The father of Malayalam Cinema would not have foreseen so much public encouragement that the movie industry would release a biopic of him, on the same month 83 years later.
The movie has Prithviraj and Mamta Mohandas in the lead. The ADR version is produced by Yogaraj Balasubramaniyam under the banner Never Give Up Cinemax
