In government “Pasumai Pannai” the vegetables are sold at very nominal rates. One kg of onion is only Rs.40 where as the same is sold at Rs.60 and Rs.80 at other shops. People are flocking to these shops and are quite happy about the low rates.
Due to rupee fall and increase in diesel and petrol, the basic commodities rates are increased. In this critical situation, this shop is a great relief to the middle class and lower middle class people. Amma Unavagam and Pasumai Pannai initiatives are well received and appreciated by all the public. Besides onion, other vegetables like tomato, green chillies, potatoes, cabbage, etc is also sold at a nominal rate.
