So, its a triple dhamaka this Diwali. Earlier two films were confirmed for release this Diwali, Ajith’s Arrambam and Karthi’s All in all Azhaguraja. Now news breaks in, with the confirmation of the release of Selvaraghavan’s Irandam Ulagam which stars Arya and Anushka.
Irandam Ulagam is a 60 crore mega budget movie with cutting edge special effects shot in multiple locations of Hyderabad, Chennai, Goa, Georgia and Tashkent.
PVP Cinemas have confirmed that Irandam Ulagam will be releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Georgian, Russian, Uzbek, and Turkish languages.
With the music and trailer already being a hit, Irandam Ulagam is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The release of the movie with two other heavy starred movies will make this Diwali a big blast for the audience.
We have to see how the trade is able to slot three high-profile movies around the same time. Will all the three make it to theaters for Diwali as planned or will there be a pull-out or two? Interesting days ahead.
This is a good news for Ajith fans `Arrambam` will release for this Diwali.`Arrambam` executive producer A.M.Rathnam has officially confirmed that the film will release this Diwali, adding that though the shooting process of the film is complete and the post production work is going on.The date of the audio release will be declared in a couple of days, Rathnam clarified.
Thala Ajith recently bought a BMW motorbike and took it for a long drive to Bangalore to create awareness on safe driving. Now the actor is also a proud owner of an Aprillia Caponord travel pack fully loaded super bike. This particular machine seems to be the more travel friendly option during road trips compared to his BMW. This latest purchase from Ajith may indicate that the actor is considering of undertaking longer road-trips.
The vehicle has a 1197 cc engine, 6 speed transmission, 11.7 kgm torque and a maximum power of 125 cv. The photo of Ajith with his new silver coloured beast was posted on net recently and is going super viral.
So if you witness a silver Aprillia being cranked by a fully geared rider on the streets of Chennai, be sure that it is our own Thala Ajith. Stay alert folks!
The Cleopatra Theatre in Tuticorin will play host to a grand ‘Mankatha Day’ celebration which will also double up as the birthday celebrations of the film’s composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. The earnings from the special screening will be donated to a charitable cause for the welfare of the orphanages and blind homes in Tuticorin city.
The organizer and theatre manager, Mr. Avinash, moments ago and he had this to say – “The response has been simply overwhelming. The show is already housefull and the numbers of eager fans are spilling out on to the streets. When we informed them that all seats have been sold out people were willing to buy a ticket just to stand and watch the show. Such has been the turn out for this screening.” Mr. Avinash also took a moment to thank Behindwoods for highlighting this special cause.
2 years on it seems like Mankatha is still unstoppable.
It's been 2 years since the release of Ajith's blockbuster Mankatha and fans are gearing up to celebrate the 2nd anniversary day of Mankatha, on August 31st.
A theater in Tuticorin by the name Cleopatra is screening a special show of the movie at 11 am on Saturday, and the ticket sales from the show would be donated for the welfare of the blind. The manager at the theater confirmed this development and the organizer of this show, Mr. Avinash spoke to our Behindwoods Correspondent
"The rates for this show will be 30 Rupees and the theater's capacity is 800. The proceeds from this show would be used for the welfare of orphanages and blind homes in Tuticorin City. Yuvan Shankar Raja fans came up with this idea as August 31st happens to be Yuvan's birthday and Ajith's fans also decided to join this initiative as 31st also happens to be Mankatha's second anniversary. The ticket sales for this show begins today and those who are willing to donate can directly join us on the 31st."
We have to see if there are similar special shows in the other parts of Tamil Nadu too.
Ajith's Arrambam directed by Vishnuvardhan has been in production for more than a year now and the film is nearing completion with just a little patchwork remaining. The team, including Taapsee and Nayantara, was spotted shooting in a popular college in Chennai City over the past week.
Arrambam's music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is rumoured to be releasing in the first week of September around the auspicious Vinayaga Chathurthi day. But, there isn't any official word about the music release date yet.
A section of the trade was expecting the movie to release for Diwali to cash in on the festive period. Others films such as Vaalu, Ivan Vera Mathiri and Endrendrum Punnagai are already in the Diwali race while Kamal's Vishwaroopam 2 might be pushed back to get a solo release window.
Now, we hear that Arrambam might also not make it for Diwali as work on the movie might not be complete by then and also, solo releases work better for big star ventures such as this.
Ajith has had a successful love affair with Diwali as quite a few of his superhits such as Villain and Varalaru have released for the 'festival of lights'. This time around, it looks like Thala might miss his Diwali date.
We are waiting for an official word from the producers of Arrambam on their release plans and to clear the air. Thala fans are all ears for this announcement.
Celebrities in film industry are well known for their penchant for fancy cars and two-wheelers. Their glamorous quotient has always been associated with the envious set of wheels owned by these superstars.
Thala Ajith’s who is known for his love for bikes has got a new toy. Though he does not race any longer on health grounds, the star has the most impressive collection of speed cars and motorbikes.
One of Ajith’s fan sites has reported that the actor has purchased the latest super bike BMW S1000RR. It is the very latest from BMW and is state-of- art bike.
The red coloured BMW bike was delivered at Ajith’s Valmiki Nagar bungalow near Thiruvanmayur in Chennai. So don’t be surprised if you see Thala take a spin on his new bike on ECR.
The fesitival of lights this year will treat Kollywood with two biggies possibly. Ajith and Arya's "Aarambham" is currently hot in Post-Production while not far away is Kamal's much awaited sequel "Vishwaroopam2" which is 90% complete.
Rajini's Kochadaiyaan though has no further updates on an official date, the unit will definitely look at Superstar's birthday 12-12-13 to have a gala opening. If all goes well, Diwali will sport the clash of movies : Ajith vs Kamal, however no official confirmation is out yet.
The rest of the movies which already are lining up this September will try and look for dates before Diwali paving way for the giants. They include Irandam Ulagam, Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, Biryani, All in All Azhagu Raja, Vaalu, Nayyandi and so on.
The wait has finally come to an end as the title of Thala Ajith's 53rd has been declared officially. As reported earlier, the film's title begins with the alphabet A. Though a teaser, as promised, is not out yet, the news is out that the film is titled 'Aarambam'.
A simple yet powerful title, symbolizing the beginning of everything big and majestic, the title in itself comes with a bang. It is already known that Ajith has been putting in extra effort to bring out the best in the movie, which will highlight a lot of stunts. With expectations mounting on the movie, the title is sure to increase the curiosity about the film.
Starring Ajith, Nayanthara, Arya and Taapsee in the lead, 'Aarambam' is helmed by Vishnuvardhan, canned by Om Prakash and edited by Sreekar Prasad, while stunts are choreographed by Lee Whitaker, Kaecha, Tinu Varma and Jagan. Music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the audio launch of the movie is expected to be in the month of August, while the movie is tentatively scheduled to release in September.
Actor Ajith and Surya have always been good friends in real life. They always pat each other on the back and never fail to compliment each other’s performances. In a recent interaction to promote Singam 2, Surya was asked his opinion on Thala Ajith's daring act in Mankatha and Suriya was also praise for Ajith's salt 'n' pepper looks, performance and much more.
Surya admitted that Ajith is never averse in taking risks and Mankatha was an instance where he had pushed the limits. He said he had always loved Vaali and Mankatha would be even more special for Suriya as he enjoyed the movie thoroughly. He also said that he was happy that Mankatha managed to satisfy the huge hype.
Ajith sported the stylish salt-and-pepper look a la George Clooney for his 50th film, Mankatha, which turned out to be a huge blockbuster. The actor will repeat the look in his upcoming untitled film with Sirutthai Shiva. His leading lady is Tamannah, who returns to the Tamil screen after a long hiatus. After completing hectic stints of shooting in Hyderabad and Rajamundry, the two are off to the Swiss Alps to shoot two songs.
Meanwhile, Ajith’s Vishnuvardhan-directed, yet-to-be-titled film, referred to as Thala 53 by fans, has been wrapped up. The film has Nayanthara teaming up with Ajith for the second time. Arya and Taapsee also play crucial roles.
