'Mankatha Day' special show rocks Tuticorin!

The Cleopatra Theatre in Tuticorin will play host to a grand ‘Mankatha Day’ celebration which will also double up as the birthday celebrations of the film’s composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. The earnings from the special screening will be donated to a charitable cause for the welfare of the orphanages and blind homes in Tuticorin city.

The organizer and theatre manager, Mr. Avinash, moments ago and he had this to say – “The response has been simply overwhelming. The show is already housefull and the numbers of eager fans are spilling out on to the streets. When we informed them that all seats have been sold out people were willing to buy a ticket just to stand and watch the show. Such has been the turn out for this screening.” Mr. Avinash also took a moment to thank Behindwoods for highlighting this special cause.

2 years on it seems like Mankatha is still unstoppable.

Mankatha Celebration

It's been 2 years since the release of Ajith's blockbuster Mankatha and fans are gearing up to celebrate the 2nd anniversary day of Mankatha, on August 31st.

A theater in Tuticorin by the name Cleopatra is screening a special show of the movie at 11 am on Saturday, and the ticket sales from the show would be donated for the welfare of the blind. The manager at the theater confirmed this development and the organizer of this show, Mr. Avinash spoke to our Behindwoods Correspondent

"The rates for this show will be 30 Rupees and the theater's capacity is 800. The proceeds from this show would be used for the welfare of orphanages and blind homes in Tuticorin City. Yuvan Shankar Raja fans came up with this idea as August 31st happens to be Yuvan's birthday and Ajith's fans also decided to join this initiative as 31st also happens to be Mankatha's second anniversary. The ticket sales for this show begins today and those who are willing to donate can directly join us on the 31st."

We have to see if there are similar special shows in the other parts of Tamil Nadu too.
